Introduction:

A pleasant day to all and welcome to Saint Mary’s Angels College of Valenzuela Scholastic Literacy Pro and
Summer Readathon Virtual Awarding Ceremony! It is with great pleasure that I join you here today to present
our Outstanding Readers for the Academic Year 2020-2021 and also to those who participated on our Summer
Readathon. Today, these learners will reap the fruits of their hardwork and love for reading. So, without
further ado, to begin the program may I call on Martin Luigi Pontigon for the opening prayer. (Opening
Prayer)

To give us a welcoming remark, let’s give a virtual round of applause to Teacher Katrina Joyce Saraos, our
PRIME English Program Consultant. (Welcome Remarks) Thank you, Teacher Kat!

Reading is beneficial for everyone, not only it exercises our brain connectivity to be able to comprehend easy
and widen our vocabulary, but also it helps us reduce stress, since most of us are staying home because of
COVID. I really do believe that as a teacher, whether you are teaching English subject or not, you have to
make sure your learners read as much as possible because the effects of reading are cumulative. So, at this
point we are lucky to hear a testimony of how reading really helps coming from one of our Grade School
parents, let’s give a virtual round of applause to Mrs. Kristine Robles. (Parent Testimony) Thank you so
much, Mrs. Robles!

Finally, we have come to the moment we’ve all been waiting for, the awarding for our outstanding readers! Let
us give a virtual round of applause for the following learners who did a good job in achieving Scholastic
Reader Awards for the Academic Year 2020-2021. Congratulations!

At this juncture, I would like to call our School Principal, Ms. Maria Sheila Dayrit to give us a message.
(Acknowledgement) Thank you so much, Ms. Sheila!

Once again, congratulations to our learners and our dear parents. As we end today’s event
