Gender and Development (GAD) Report

Pursuant to the provision of section 37-C of Republic Act. 9710,

otherwise known as the Magna Carta of Women (MCW), all government

agencies and instrumentalities shall establish or strengthen their GFPS or a

similar GAD mechanism to catalyze and accelerate gender mainstreaming

within the agency. Moreover, the General Appropriations Act (GAA) which

government-owned and controlled corporations, local government units

(LGUs) and other government instrumentalities to formulate their annual

Gender and Development (GAD) Plans and Budgets, these guidelines on the

utilization of GAD Budget and other requirements would serve as reference to

all GAD Program implementers of DepEd.

In view of this, Pacifico Elementary School, conducted a GAD Health

and Wellness Program for teaching and non-teaching staff in line with the

implementation of the Guidelines on the Required Health Standards in Basic

Education Offices and Schools (DepEd Order No. 014, s. 2020) the

department aims to ensure safe educational continuity amidst the challenges

of COVID-19. In the provision of learning opportunities, the health and safety

of teaching and non-teaching personnel are of utmost importance and must

be protected at all times.

The provision of vitamins and minerals such as vitamin C, multi-

vitamins, anti-flu vaccines, facemask, faceshield, and alcohol will protect them

and may prevent the occurrence of common cold, cough and flu.

A nutritional focus on the immune system could help minimize the

impact of many kinds of infections. Also, designing daily health activities is an

effective way of helping the immune system fight off Covid-19.
