Paradise lost

By: Milton

Paradise lost consists of 12 book, which follows the epic poem from 1667 that
deals with the expulsion of the first mankind Adam and Eve.

John Milton expresses his theme  ‘The fall’ and uses the heavenly muse to
inspire his efforts and justify the ways of God to man.

Paradise loss began when God cast out Satan and his army of rebels, The
fallen angels out of heaven, and ended up on the floating fiery lake in hell.
Satan leads the fallen angels and creates great council to continue their
resistance to God

Satan convinced them that the best target newest God new creation Mans,

Satan himself volunteer to fly to the world full of God`s creation, Satan
children sin and death helps him escape to the gates of hell when Satan
promises to return territory usurped God chaos and night direct him to the
new world, in other hands, God already knew that Satan will succeed in
tempting and corrupting mankind, so God declares that man will be punished
for being disobedience as for he created humans to be strong enough to
stand such temptations.

As for Satan find eve alone and successfully seduce her by eating the fruit of
the tree

of knowledge, after she eats the fruit she offers it to Adam though

he realizes that doomed, on the other hands Adam still eat the fruit so they
will share the same fate

So as God is angry and sends the son to the garden Eden to deliver his
judgment Eve and all women will experience pain and childbirth and they
must submit to their husband will Adam and all men will labor to grow food
from the cursed ground

Satan amused with his success and children sin and death built the bridge
between hell and earth

In punishment for Satan, the son transforms him and all his followers into
serpents doomed to eternally hunger for fruit that turns to ashes when they
bite into it.
God next order to angels to remake the new world to reflect  Adam and eve
fall and they alter the weather and create discord between mankind and
animal,  after Adam and Eve argue, they confess to God ask pardon and
repent as God accept their apologies and promising to reward their
obedience with an afterlife in heaven.

And the end Adam and Eve Finally leave paradise accepting their fate.

Understanding the poem Satan is used to be God’s favorite creation, it turned

all into chaos, when God introduces Jesus to the Angels, and got Jealous to
start being rebellious, and ended up in hell. For John Milton, he twists the
whole character plotting, which makes Satan an epic hero despite being the
evil antagonist of the story, having great lines and making Satan the difficult
character. On the other hand, john plotted God as the almighty, who knows
everything including Satan’s plan which this part disappoints me, for he can
cast Satan in the first place why not banish him permanently to be more
peace full and no world chaos? Moving to Jesus  he is the son of God  who
volunteers to die for the sins of  mankind, and God created Adam to be
innocent and  perfect, giving him free will, and making Adam and all
humankind

Open to danger his curiosity shows an innate human desire for knowledge,
Adam is closer to God than Eve is and he supposed to be smarter and
stronger but his desire for human companionship and his attachment to eve is
the cause of his fall on Milton`s Eve both conforms to and stretches early
-modern expectations and gender roles she`s made of Adam ribs to be his
companion but Eve also shows independent thinking and curiosity for
knowledge matches Adam though.

And Satan sees her independent spirit as an easier target and seduces her to
eat the fruit that leads to the fall of mankind.
