I – Objectives

At the end of the lesson the students are expected to:

 define and differentiate the terms ‘weight’ and ‘mass’


 describe the relationship between weight and mass.
 calculate weight from mass and vice versa.

III – Procedure

A. Motivation
Let the students answer the question “Which is heavier a pound of feathers of a pound
of bricks?”

B. Activities
Students will try to remember or estimate their mass. Compute for their weight on
earth and on moon.

C. Abstraction
Ask the students about their ideas on mass and weight.
Discuss the difference between mass and weight
Cite examples of mass and weight.

D. Application
Let the students solve real –life problems given the mass and weight.

E. Assessment
