ABSTRACT
Background: Evaluation is the final process in nursing care. Evaluation is the process by
which nurses assess the results of all actions taken to the patient. From these results it can be
assessed whether the actions taken have given rise to the patient's health status, deteriorated
or raised new problems. Methods: This study uses the literature review method, which is a
study that uses how to extract as much information from existing sources. The sources used
are journals, e-books, previous research studies and text books in the last 10 years. This
research is not carried out directly in the field only limited to searching for information from
various sources concerned with important components of the evaluation process in nursing
care. Results: There are four important components in nursing care, namely determining
criteria, standard practice, and evaluative questions, analyzing and comparing data against
criteria and standards, summarizing results and making conclusions, implementing
appropriate interventions based on conclusions. Conclusion: Evaluation is a deliberate and
systematic evaluation to evaluate whether an action is feasible or not by comparing to the
criteria that have been identified previously. Suggestion: Nurses must be able to master the
various evaluation components in order to facilitate the nursing process that will be carried
out. Because evaluation is also one component of the nursing process. For this reason, nurses
must be able to practice comparing what actions have been given and implemented to clients
to support evaluation evaluations of health improvements that have been achieved.
