Dear Mayor Burkett,

Attached to this email, please find a letter asking for your assistance with a
request from the NIST team of engineers which is investigating the collapse
of the Champlain South Towers.
Thad hoped to hand-deliver this to you last Friday at the meeting I thought
‘we would have, but unfortunately, there was not an opportunity to do so.

My understanding is that you had given your phone number to Dr. Mitrani
Reiser of NIST and said she could contact you if you could be of assistance.
She reportedly called you on July 19, and left you a voicemail message to ask
for assistance with getting these documents; however, perhaps you didn’t get
the message.

1 am aware that my office could issue a subpoena for the documents that
NIST has identified as necessary for their investigation, but am hoping that in
the spirit of cooperation you could enlist the assistance of your Building
Official and Town Clerk to get these materials as soon as possible.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about this
request.
