Task 1 (18 points).
Correct mistakes in the sentences. Write full sentences.

1. We try hard every time to pass exams excellently.

2. I don’t want to go for a walk, I am watching an interesting film.

3. Are you walking in the park at the moment?

4. My mother is living at the seaside.

5. The children are swimming in the pool.

6. Are you learning to drive with your dad?

7. It takes two hours to get home from work.

8. He doesn’t like black clothes.

Task 2 (20 points).

Read the sentences and put the verbs in brackets in either Present Simple or Present
Continuous.

1. John lives in London but now he stays with his mother in Reading because he is
renovating his flat. He renovates it every two years.

2. I think this party is boring. The boys are playing video games and the girls are gossiping
about them. Nobody is dancing at parties anymore!

3. Sorry, I can’t talk right now, I am taking my dog to the vet, he is looking really sick.
Usually he runs around all day, but today he is sleeping a lot.

4. Mom is not feeling well, so today dad cooks dinner. He makes some vegetable stew
because nobody eats meat in our family.

5. Finally, we are going to the beach! Unfortunately we don't go there often because it rains
a lot here, but today the sun is shining.
Task 3 (14 points).
Put the words into the correct order to make sentences in Present Perfect Simple. Mind if
the sentences are positive, negative or interrogative.
