In exercise of powers conferred under subsection (6) of section 12 of the


Punjab Board of Technical Education (Amendment) ordinance 1962, the Minister
lndustries, Commerce, Investment & Skills Development Department, Punjab / the
Controlling Authority of PBTE is pleased to approve the criteria / policy framework for
the conduct of 1't Annual Examinations 2021 and declaration of results in the back
drop of COVID-19 Pandemic.

DAE / DDM I"t.ANNUAL EXAMINATIONS.2O2I


i- The regular students shall be given exemption in almost 50% subjects of each
year of DAE / DDM courses on the basis of number of subjects / credit hours.
ii- The technical subjects which were more significant and representative of the
technology were chosen by the experts / subject specialists in addition to
Mathematics. The experts finalized subjects for each year of every technology
/ course. The prescribed reduced number of subjects for 1't annual
examinati on 2021 were notified and circulated'
iii- For DAE / DDM courses, English, Urdu, lslamic Studies I Pak Studies, MGM,
Physics, Chemistry in most technologies and some technical subjects in all
technologies were exempted as recommended by the relevant subject experts.
iv- Examination of Mathematics and technical subjects up to almost 50% of
course in total as per credit hours was held as recommended by the experts.
v- The result / marks of the exempted subjects shall be awarded on the basis of
average percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in prescribed
reduced number of subjects for respective year of study for which examination
was taken.
vi- The result of a student shall not be declared until he / she does not pass his /
her all reduced number of subjects.
vii- Complete Practical examinations of alltechnologies shall be conducted. However,
practical examinations for 3'd year | 4th year shall be conducted prior to theory

examinations, while practical examinations for 1't and 2nd years (3 years course)
and 1't, 2nd and 3'd year (4 years course) shall be held after theory examinations.

vilt- The regular students who got registered in 2018 onward (DAE / DDM 3 years
course), and in 2017 onward (DAE 4 years course) having compartments
shall be given exemption of the subject which are excluded by the subject
experts.
tx- The marks of the exempted subjects shall be awarded on the basis of the overall
percentage of theory of all core subjects (prescribed reduced number of subjects)
whether passed previously or in 1't-annual examinations-2021or later.

x- EX-STUDENTS OF DAE / DDM


All ex- students (registered in 2015 to 2017) shall appear in 1"-annual
examination-2021 for their respective failed subjects.

xi-DAE GOLDEN CHANCE STUDENTS AND REAPPEARING


STUDENTS OF DAE / DDM
All DAE golden chance students (registered in 2006 to 2014) shall appear in
1't annual examination-2021 for their respective failed subjects. All
reappearing students of DAE / DDM shall sit in 1't annual examination-2021
for their respective failed subjects.

xii- The papers in the subjects including English, lslamic Studies I Pak Studies and
Urdu on the analogy of General Education Boards shall be excluded for the
upcoming D.Com, DBA, DHO, DCA, DSE, Matric Tech and Matric Vocational
1't-annual examination-2021 and the average percentage obtained in the

remaining theory subjects (prescribed reduced subjects) shall be used for

determining the marks in the above excluded subjects.


xiii- Compartment students registered in 2019 and onward having failed subjects
including English, lslamic Studies I Pak Studies & Urdu etc. shall be given
exemption in the failed subjects. However, the compartment students failed in

core subjects (other than exempted subject) shall sit in 1"-annual

examination-2021 for their failed subjects.


xiv- The result / marks of the exempted subjects shall be awarded on the basis of
average percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in theory component of
prescribed reduced number of subjects for which examination shall be taken.
xv- Practical examination of D.Com, DBA, DHO, DCA, DSE, Matric Tech and Matric
Vocational etc. shall be conducted after theory examinations.

XVi- VOCATIONALCOURSES
For all vocational courses of two years, one year, 6 months, 3 and 4 months
durations, the students shall appear in their respective examination for all

subjects.
xvii- DIVISION IMPROVEMENT CASES OF ALL STREAMS
All Division / lmprovement students shall appear in 1't annual examination-
2021 for their respective subjects / courses.

xviii- GRIEVANCE COMMITTEE

A grievance committee shall be constituted by Chairman, PBTE. lf any


student is aggrieved, his / her case shall be fonvarded to that committee for
redressal in the light of above parameters.

Note. The following statement shall be printed on certificates and transcripts


Etc. of the students under this scheme:
"The marks awarded under the criteria / examinations
policy for 1't-Annual Examinations-2021 is the best prediction of
the performance of the student and has been awarded based on
the formulae and guidelines approved by the Controlling
Authority due to COVID-19 pandemic."
