Critical analysis

Mixed method research is assumed as the unique and new model of research design in social and
behavioural sciences. It is used when researcher wants validate or corroborate results obtained
from other methods, use one method to inform another method, to elaborate, clarify and build on
findings from other methods and when researcher wants to explain and elaborate the one
problem from the different angles. Here we can critically review the research design used in the
research process. The mixed method uses a different research design to figure out the solutions.
Using both qualitative and quantitative research in a single approach may not provide a specific
result. It makes the research process more complicated, and it is more time consuming and
money consuming method. Education is changing field, and today accepted process may not be
applicable in tomorrow. The mixed method is usually applied or developing the theory about a
phenomenon of interest. Education is related to the knowledge and skills deliver to the people.
For the growth and development of the education field, research can be conducted only through
qualitative and quantitative research methods. To apply a mixed method research method, a
researcher must have the detailed understanding of qualitative and quantitative research model as
a mixed method research model, use the collected data from the quantitative and qualitative
model. Different designs are developed for the mixed method research, but it mainly focuses on
the quantitative and qualitative research for appropriate use of them in mixed method study.
Result from one method can be integrated to other method; therefore instead of using the mixed
method research the researcher should use either qualitative or quantitative research method
