What a terrible night!

It had been raining all day. By 9 o'clock, it was still blowing a gale and pouring outside. I
detested that weather. Depressedly, I turned off the TV mid-show, decided to went to bed
instead of waiting for my parents to come home.

Just as I was lying down, a flash of lightning came across the sky. Suddenly, the light went
off. "Just my luck!" I muttered, "Alone at home in the middle of a stormy night and now,
without no electricity."

I got up, groped for some candles but bumped into a table. My elbow hurt like hell. But
finally, I managed to found some candles in the kitchen and set them up. No sooner had the
room been brightly lit than I realized the roof had leaked and the water was seeping inside. I
quickly took a pot and got the drops. I sat down, sighed, looked at the heavy rain and high
winds outside the window, and thought, hopefully, that there wouldn't be problems
anymore. And, on the spot, a branch of tree hardly hit and broke the windowpane in front
of me.

Scaredly, I rushed to the cellphone and called my parents. But the sound from the speaker
knocked me out nicely: "The person you have called is not available at the moment. Please
try again later."

Luckily, my parents returned home the following morning. Trembling in my mother's arms, I
felt so relieved. What a terrible night!
