Ordinance (Cap. 41). The principal function of IA is to regulate and supervise the insurance
industry for the promotion of the general stability of the insurance indust ry and for the
protection of existing and potential policy holders.
Key Responsibilities
Man the IA’s hotline and handle enquiries from the public and industry stakeholders relating
to the insurance industry, Insurance Ordinance, the IA and related matters
Co-ordinate with different internal divisions and teams to draft replies to written enquiries
Develop lines-to-take for frequently asked questions
Support Assistant External Relations Manager to monitor the performance of the IA’s public
enquiry service
Provide administrative support to the External Relations Section and offer assistance to ad-hoc
projects as assigned.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree in any discipline
At least 2 years’ relevant experience in handling hotline enquiries or complaints in the
insurance industry; or relevant experience from financial regulators or public organizations
Sound knowledge of insurance products and the industry, and good understanding of the
Insurance Ordinance and related regulations will be an advantage
Strong command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
Strong interpersonal skills with professional telephone manner, able to work independently
under pressure
Self-confident with empathetic skills in dealing with enquirers, including complainants and
insurance intermediaries
Proficiency in PC skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing)
Remuneration Package
A competitive remuneration package commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience
and qualifications will be offered.
