Le futur proche

Talking about the future:

what you are ‘going to’ do
The future tense is easy-peasy! It is
also really important because if you can
say what you did and are going to do
you can reach at least a Level 6!!
All you do is find the infinitive of the
phrase you need – whatever you are
‘going to’ do…
Aller au cinéma
Jouer au foot
Faire de la natation

Trouvez les verbes suivants à l’infinitif:

écouter de la musique
manger un sandwich
regarder la télé
…you then put the correct part of aller (to go)
in front of it
E.g.:
Je vais aller au cinéma
Je vais regarder la télé
Je vais faire du bowling
Of course, you will want to talk about other
people and to other people about what they are
going to do. You will need to know the verb
“aller” really well - LEARN IT!!

Aller – to go
Je vais I go

Tu vas you go

il va he goes

elle va she goes

nous allons we go

vous allez you (plural/polite) go

ils vont they (masc.) go

elles vont They (fem.) go

Let’s practise… now with an infinitive…

1 = je 1 = to play
2 = tu 2 = to eat
3 = il / elle 3 = to go
4 = nous 4 = to watch
5 = vous 5 = to do
6 = ils/ elles 6 = to listen
