Galaxies are very trendy in the creative world right now and
drawing a galaxy is much easier than you think. You can use
di"erent mediums that you are most comfortable with such
as watercolor, acrylic paint, inks, and even markers!
GALAXY BASICS
I used similar color themes in all of the projects below so it
would be easier to compare. I laid down shades of blues and
purples. Then once it was dry, I added in black to cover most
(but not all of the galaxy).

GALAXY TECHNIQUES
1. Watercolor
One of the most popular ways to draw a galaxy is through
watercolor. I used this watercolor set to add shades of blue
and purples, let it dry, then I covered it up with black
watercolor.
3. Ink Blending
If you’re going to blend ink to create a galaxy, I highly
recommend using these Distress Oxide inks. Ink blending is
a popular technique among paper cra!ers. You will
definitely get an arm workout.
4. Acrylic Paint
Another way to paint a galaxy is using acrylic paint. You can
buy acrylic paint anywhere and some brands are really
a"ordable. I bought this cheap set of acrylic paint because I
don’t use acrylics very o!en (but I may have to start!). I used
a sponging technique to apply the paint with these foam
brushes.
