Amid the continuing national public health emergency caused by COVID-19, the

Department of Education (DepEd) remains committed to find ways in improving the


provision of learning opportunities to all Filipino learners as we welcome the School Year
2021-2022, taken into greater considerations the challenges encountered last school
year.

As part of the Department of Education’s mission to promote the right of every


Filipino learner to a quality and equitable education homed in a safe and motivating
environment, swift yet unified efforts of the department to ensure continuity of learning
were done through its Learning Continuity Plan (LCP) which was approved and
recommended by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging
Infectious Diseases, shall continue to be the blueprint and guidepost of the department’s
thrust.

Southeast Butuan District I, in the heart of Butuan City Division, is composed of


16 schools: 9 Elementary Schools, 2 Integrated Schools and 5 Secondary Schools which
homed 16 School Administrators, 115 elementary teachers, 106 secondary teachers,
and 3 Non-teaching Personnel.

The district’s Enhanced Basic Education- Learning Continuity Plan (EBE-LCP) for
School Year 2021-2022 is anchored on the 6 key dimensions, namely: Safe Operations,
Focus on Learning, Hiniusang Pag-alagad para sa Edukalidad , Reaching the Most
Marginalized, Well-being and Protections, and Education Financing.

In the continuity of adapting these learning opportunities, Southeast Butuan


District I assures to continue in delivering quality learning to its learners without
compromising their health and safety, and as well as strengthening the linkage of the
school and its stakeholders, public and private entities by its schools’ sustainable safe
operations and encapsulated strategies through its schools’ best practices:

1. Conducted remote enrolment which started last August 13 and is on-going


until September 31, 2021, which yielded a total number of 5, 624 learners as
of September 21, 2021, as a response of schools’ various initiatives:
a. facilitated dropbox enrolment through designated booths and kiosk in
the visible locations of schools and barangays which are accessible to
the parents and guardians
b. utilized digital platforms like Google Apps and social media
c. conducted community mapping

2. Readied schools for the opening of classes through its annual activity,
“Brigada Eskwela”, wherein the schools prioritized strengthening partnership
engagement
a. Conducted Scheduled Pahina for Environmental Clean-up
b. Provided technical assistance on the repair and enhancement of
necessary facilities and classroom set-up
c. Observed health protocols upon entry and exit within the schools and
district premises in school and district-based activities

Southeast Butuan District I initiated strategies to ensure the quality


implementation of curriculum which is the main thrust of Focus of Learning dimensions
by ensuring a 1:1 Self-Learning Module (SLM) to Learner, as follows:
 Procurement of Additional Printers
 Generated Resources from Stakeholders
 Provision of Materials from Division Office facilitated by the District Office

On the other hand, Southeast Butuan District I’s response to Hiniusang Pag-alagad
para sa EduKALIDAD includes:
 participation of teachers on trainings on the use of Learning Management
System (LMS) and DepEd Commons.
 Equal opportunities are also given to all teachers and school heads for
professional and personal development for continuous improvement.
 Most significantly, the schools in the district facilitated parent/stakeholder’s
assembly, orientation on the curriculum implementation and learning delivery
through Dry-run Simulation Videos, and other means of facilitating learning,
at the comfort of their homes.

Reaching the Most Marginalized has been also in the core of the district as it
continuously adopts learners undergoing difficult circumstances, and learners from the
far-flung areas and those residing at Geographically Isolated Communities (GICs);
Alternative Learning System (ALS); and the Indigenous Peoples’ Learners through
various interventions:
 designated schools to set-up BLGU Drop-off/Pick-up Sites in coordination with
the Barangay Officials
 strengthened the organization and orientation of community learning
facilitators to gain support on home-based learning through various
approaches such as Home Visitation
 initiated wide reach of audience through radio, and social media platforms
 conducted advocacy on voluntary local “Bayanihan” activities to sustain
supplies of essential items, school supplies, etc.

Well-being and Protection has been one of the top priorities of the district as it
made sure that
 activities addressing Mental Health and Psychosocial Support are being
participated by its teachers, learners, and stakeholders.
 As vaccination is greatly encouraged, the district also had an overwhelming
number of vaccinated teaching and non-teaching personnel.

As part of the department’s adherence on the principle of transparency and


accountability, the district ensures the following:
 On-time liquidation of MOOE
 Mobilized resources from stakeholders

The schools in the district have been also dedicated in adapting with innovations
to cope up with the challenges of the global pandemic, such as:
 Project CARE
 Project STORE
 Project DATE
 Project STAR

Southeast Butuan District I firmly adheres that Sustaining Education


Continuity for Balanced Development and Dynamism in Achieving 1 Goal,
ensures delivery of basic quality, relevant, and liberating education under the new
normal.
