From the reading of the book lamentation, we can see that the reality of pain, the book has
much to say about pain. According to the message god seems to be absent and his promise seems
to be forgotten. Indeed, God himself is inflicting this pain upon his own people, women are being
raped and even boiling and eaten their own children. The cause of all this pain is unmistakably
clear that, the people have sinned and they have been very rebellious. Yet while the lamentation
speaks of pain resulting from a very specific historical event. The dismay and despair that resound
though its pages are universal experience in this fallen world, right up to the present time
However so too is God mercy for those who trust him through Christ. As surely as
judgement await the faithless and mercy await the faithful- to those who look to God, waiting on
him, trusting in his son and yielding themselves to him.

To conclude this book reading

The central message of lamentation for the church today around the world is that, God
sustaining grace in the midst of suffering. God draws near to his suffering saint. Indeed, in Jesus
Christ’s god has drawn closer to us than could have been imagined -he has become lie one of us,
sharing in all that we suffered in this world, remembering him and his cross, and the Glory into
which he entered and into which we too shall enter, we trustingly submit to him and his fatherly
governance of our lives and the lives of our brothers and sisters around the world today.
