Jokowi is also a fairly naughty child.

One example is often calling food vendors who pass

in front of the house and snack at will. His mother just resigned and paid for the food that Jokowi
had eaten. One day, he mistakenly called a charcoal merchant who he thought was a food
merchant. His mother also bought a packet of charcoal and handed it to Jokowi. It looks simple
but it is one of the happy memories.

However, one day when the local government decided to evict residents along the
riverbank, Jokowi and his family had to stay at his uncle's house. This difficult situation forced
them to work even harder. Among them, Jokowi's father has to work as a public transport driver.
Not only that, after school, Jokowi helped his mother sell in the market and continued his father's
business. They don't complain but share positive energy.

Not long after, the hard work paid off. From the money saved by the public transport
driver and selling wood, Jokowi's father managed to set up a wood workshop.
Soon they were able to buy a simple house to live in. In 1980 Jokowi decided to study at the
Department of Forestry Wood Technology, Gajah Mada University. Jokowi deliberately chose
this major so that he could study timber. He did this because he wanted to follow in his father's
footsteps to build a big wood business.

When he reached the end of college, Jokowi felt he had to be serious in doing his final
project because he would enter the world of work. But at the same time, his concentration was
slightly dispersed by the presence of a woman named Iriana.
Iriana Jokowi is the sister's friend who often comes to his house, and Iriana was simply to make
Jokowi fall in love with him.

However, the courtship period for Jokowi is quite a tough time. Because Jokowi is in
Yogyakarta while Iriana is in Solo. Although the distance is not that far, but the costs that must
be paid by Jokowi, which makes them rarely meet. However, Jokowi still took the time to meet
with Iriana.

When he graduated from college in 1985, Jokowi was accepted at a paper company in
Aceh which was far from his hometown. Jokowi was immediately placed in the jungle. Jokowi
and his friends have the task of sowing pine seedlings to be planted in barren land. A few months
later Jokowi returned to Solo to propose to Iriana. In the early days of their marriage, Jokowi and
Iriana lived in the middle of the forest for 2.5 years.

In the second year, Iriana was already pregnant and they decided to give birth to their
first child in Solo. When he arrived in Solo, he worked with his uncle at the maubel factory. He
has tried all positions. From production to marketing. In 1987, Jokowi and Iriana's first child was
born. He was given the name Gibran Rakabumin Raka. They took the name because they have
the principle that Gibran stands for persistent and courageous. So they want their children to
have the spirit of life as the name suggests.

Not long after the birth of their first child, Jokowi with minimal capital established his
first company engaged in the maubel business called CV Rakabu. Since becoming an
entrepreneur, Jokowi has had ups and downs. He had been cheated. When the goods have been
sent, the payment has not been received. However, this did not make Jokowi give up. He uses
many strategies to grow his business. One of them is by participating in furniture exhibitions
abroad to seek bank loans.

Since then, Jokowi has never been empty of buyers. Not only domestic, Jokowi's buyers
also come from abroad. After that, Jokowi and Iriana were blessed with two more children.
Kahiyang Ayu and Kaesang Pangarep. To his children, Jokowi wants them to know the school of
life based on the struggle to be independent. The value of this principle is instilled for their future
life.
