History, Myth, and Legend

The study of philosophy offers a true reflection of humans on various facets of ideas and

institutions that have shaped the existence of mankind through the ages. The history of societies

is passed from one generation to another through historical sessions that highlight the occurrence

of previous events and task the living generation to pass the button of knowledge to the

generations to come. Within the course of learning literary texts provide an opportunity to have

the primary information on how things unfolded in the ancient days 1. Secondary text from

different scholars also affirms the reality of the things considered history. However, in the past

decade, there has been a trend that tends to question the possibility of recovering a text’s

historical relevance. Therefore, in pursuit to justify the relevance of historical texts, the essay

provides a textual evidence-based evaluation on the Eirik the Red’s Saga in relation to other

History, Myth, and Legend materials studied during the module.
