Republicans torpedoed a proposed 9-11-style commission to investigate the US Capitol
attack. According to members, the battle over the committee on January 6 is not over
yet.

Attention is the House of Representatives, which teases the idea that Democrats and

investigation from the family of Brian Sicknick, a parliamentary police officer who died
after the parliamentary riots.

The House of Representatives passed a 252 to 175 committee plan last week, with 35
Republicans throwing support behind the bill.

Texas Republican Rep. Michael McCaul said on Sunday that he voted against the bill
because he felt the Justice Department was the best fit to handle the investigation on
CNN’s “program show.”

“In essence, I don’t think this is an overview of the policies that the 9/11 Commission
did,” McCall said. “It’s a criminal investigation, a criminal case. In my judgment, it’s not a
politically appointed committee, but properly within the scope of the Justice Ministry
where I worked for many years.”

McCall said he was concerned that the commission could be “polluted by politics” and
undermine ongoing investigations.

“My decision is for now. Let’s proceed with this DOJ investigation,” he said. “They have
now arrested more than 400 responsible people. I want the person in charge to be
accountable and in court, and give all the answers to what happened on January 6th. I
want to ask and report it to Congress. “

in other investigations,” Jason Crow said in NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
