Introduction
Corporate World is the way of making the survival better, by serving the human’s various
needs profitably. We human are deploying the natural resources to fulfil the needs and earn
profit, at the same time Corporate World has some responsibilities towards the society to
take care. If you are taking from the society so this is become our utmost responsibility to
‘give back’ to the society, by taking care of various needs of less privileged members of the
society and also by taking care the ecological balance of nature and I strongly believe that
this should go by all along.
Nowadays, very few companies are doing CSR keeping in mind as their responsibility, they
are doing for their company’s marketing to make profit and also due to other firms are
doing this is like ‘they come to guilt and do the CSR’. India is the first country in the world to
make Corporate Social Responsibility mandatory, by done the amendment to the
Companies Act, 2013, by dividing some criteria.
We personally feel that CSR should not be done through enforcement, as a human society
this should be included in the company’s ethics by their own will, the day we accept it, that
day our society would be a wonderful society.

Literature Review
CSR encompasses relationship between a company and all of its stakeholders, such as
customers, employees, communities, owners/investors, government, suppliers and
competitors. (Khoury, Rostani).
CSR is a firm’s responsibility to enhance social interest, this responsibility goes beyond laws
and the firm’s interest (McWilliams and Siegal).
CSR is the commitment made by a company to remove or reduce its adverse impacts on the
society, and meanwhile boost the long-term beneficial influences on the society (Mohr,
Webb).
CSR is a policies and actions adopted by a corporation to reflect its responsibilities to
advance social interests (Mattern and Moon).
Companies invests in a lot of areas like Child labour, Ground water, Food, Education, etc but
they are not aware of the essential need of the poor. Though profit earning is the natural
fact of companies (Bibhu Prasad and Mohanty, 2012).
The Indian Private and Public firms are making efforts in the CSR areas, still there is a
requirement of more emphasis on CSR (Dr. M. Ramana Kumar, 2013).
Companies today are working not only to earn profit but have also realized the importance
of being social friendly. Social Responsibility today has started taking a turn in the new
direction (Harbajan Bansal, Vinu Parida and Pankaj Kumar, 2012).
Business is the part of society so it must fulfil the social responsibilities (Mahatma Gandhi).
