Qualitative
Qualitative research can be understood as a research procedure that utilizes
descriptive data, in the form of written or oral words from people and perpetrators
observed. Qualitative research is conducted to explain and analyze phenomena, events,
social dynamics, attitudes of trust, and a person or group's perception of something.
The qualitative research process begins by drawing up basic assumptions and rules of
thinking that will be used in research. The data collected in the research is then
interpreted.
A. Qualitative Data Collection
Data Collection methods are mainly focused on gaining insights, reasoning, and
motivativation. Hence they go deeper in terms of research. Since the qualitative data
cannot be measured, reseachers prefer methods or data collection tools that are
structured to a limit extent. There are several kinds of qualitative data collection
methods.

1. One-to-One Interviews.
This is one method of collecting data by interviewing the sources that related to
research topics. This method is used if the researcher wants to get the deeper
information based on the experience or opinions from the source. This method
should begin by introducing yourself to the source, explaining the purpose of the
interview, and explaining the interview material.

2. Observation
This method aims to get a more real picture of an event. Researchers can enter a
community to understand and observe their habits or their ways of working. This
data collection conducts research through sensing, And after that researchers make
reports based on what is seen, heard, and felt.

Observations can be participation observations, unstructured observations, and

group observations.
- Observation of participation when researchers join the event or community
studied.
- Unstructured observations are observations made without guidelines and
researchers only freely develop information based on conditions in the field.
- The group observations were made when the research team observed the
researcher's objects in a group of groups.

3. Focus Group Discussion (FGD)

In this method, the researchers must do a discussions together with the several
respondents on research topics to find out their views or understanding. The
research will do FGD when the researchers want to know a more objective view
from a group.

4. Document Study
This method is done by reviewing documents related to research topics. The
document can be in the form of letters, photo archives, meeting minutes, journals,
diaries, etc.

A. Data Recording
Qualitative data is taken and presented with the form of words (writing), images,
audio, and video. These datas are obtained from interviews, shootings, and also
recordings. Qualitative is a research that is not analyzed with statistical science
because qualitative data is not a number.
