GUIDELINES FOR LECTURE, REPORT, AND CLASS PARTICIPATION

1. Lecture and report have been allotted 10% of your final grade, and class
participation with 5% only.

a. Lecture and Report


a. 1. Composition:
i. Answering all the questions to raise by the audience, and
ii. Preparation of questions in a game using kahoot or quizizz app, etc. with 10
to 15 minutes duration only, and to be participated and answered by all
members of the audience where the top 5 winners will be given due credit
that fall part of their class participation.

a.2. Lecture and report procedure:


i. Receive the concerned video lecture at most 1 week before its scheduled
delivery.
ii. Whereas, if unfortunately, no available video lecture found, you’ll be the one
to make it and the ppt you’ll use in it, based on the written module I’ll provide
you ahead of time. You can limit your discussion to the module/chapter
topics assigned to you as enumerated in the course syllabus but not to its
content, as you can still refer from other sources to widen your level of
understanding in it thus be prepared and confident enough to answer all the
questions that will be raised by the audience.
iii. Prepare your own ppt from said video lecture where the topics per se and
its outline is written to help the audience be reminded of questions
they intend to raise.
iv. For assigned group of lecturers per given module/chapter/topic, divide the
sub-topics appertained thereto among yourselves thus prepare well and be
liable answering questions covering the topics assigned to each one of them.
v. Deliver your presentation and facilitate the open forum (ask and answer
questions) in English language.
vi. Limit your open forum to 1 hour and 10 minutes and the conduct of game to
10-15 minutes if the assigned topic to cover for a given synchronous
meeting is good for that day only. But if this is scheduled to cover for 6 hours
or 2 meetings as shown in the course syllabus, time allotted to open forum
should be 1-1/2 on first meeting, and 1 hour on the 2nd meeting for the
remaining minutes to utilize for the conduct of game and formal quiz.

a.3. Lecture and report set parameters to gauge the group or one’s performance:
i. Individual grading system for answering questions during the open forum:
• Answer correctly, direct to the point, and expound it with sense.
• Deliver thoughts more in English language.
• Intervention made to answer questions that the co-member could not
answer appropriately.
ii. For the group grade which depends on the quality of:
• Prepared/presented video lecture (if needed), ppt and game.
• Managing the time.
- Please ensure that within the given allotted time for the open
forum, all the group members have imparted their respective
parts. Otherwise, the one who left behind for not participating
during the discussion proper will get an individual grade of 70%
or the chance to join the presentation of the succeeding group for
recovery purposes. So please avoid it to happen.
- As such, there is a need to divide your time among the number
of topics as assigned to every lecturer so that all of them may
have the opportunity to perform their respective parts.

a.4. All students of this class are compelled to become part of this lecture or
reporting activity. Failure to do so shall construe to mean obtaining an
incomplete grade at the end of the semester.

b. Class participation
b.1. Set indicators for grading system:
i. Raised relevant questions only.
ii. Also properly shared personal stand on topics being tackled for a given
moment.
iii. Participate and win or topnotch on given Q/A game that was prepared by
the assigned lecturers.
b.2. Please be reminded that failure to ask questions about complicated topics
that need further understanding shall be at your own risk, as this will require
you extra effort to study them on your own thus cope up with the
assessment proceeding, we may possibly cover in the succeeding
meetings.

2. That to maximize the use of our time, no further reminders/elaborations/ arguments


to raise with the way you conform to the foregoing as the actual performance you
present in this part which is 15% of your final grade, shall speak by itself.

3. Also, to inform you that coverage of topics to tackle per synchronous meeting will
depend as much as possible on the stipulated set schedule in our course syllabus.
