 Overview
There exists a bug (SLTFS Work Item94311) in all PI-SDK install kits starting with the
1.3.8.387 kit. Uninstalling or upgrading (which effectively triggers an uninstall) may crash when
the PI-SDK install path exceeds 50 characters.

This utility can be run to fix the uninstall files on the machine where PI-SDK has been installed.
This allows PI-SDK to be uninstalled, upgraded, or repaired.

Setup

Operating Systems

This fix is only needed for 64-bit systems. It is supported on any 64-bit operating system
where PI-SDK versions 1.3.387 – 1.4.2.445 are installed.

System Prerequisites

Any one of the following versions of PI-SDK:

 1.3.387 (x64)
 1.4.0.416 (x64)
 1.4.2.455 (x64)

Distribution Kit Files

This utility is provided in a ZIP file, “PI-SDK Uninstall Fix Utility (x64).zip”

Installation and Upgrade

To install, unzip “PI-SDK Uninstall Fix Utility (x64).zip” to a directory of your choosing
(e.g., “c:\ PI-SDK Uninstall Fix Utility (x64)\”)

 After unzipping the contents, run “PI-SDK Uninstall Fix Utility (x64).exe” as an
adminstrator.
To run as an administrator, log into the machine as an administrator, right click the file in
Windows Explorer, choose “Run as…” and remove the check from the checkbox for running
with restricted privileges. Exact wording may vary depending on the version of Windows
that is being used.
A log file will be generated in the directory where the utility was run. Review the log file to
confirm that the affected MSI file(s) were found and finished updating.

Now all uninstall, upgrade, and repair options should function normally. If PI-SDK is
removed from the machine and re-installed, the fix will need to be reapplied by running this
utility again.
