Introduction
The below procedure describe how to install/update Business Objects Platform 4.2 SP7, and
allow different teams to exploit Web Intelligence Rich Client tool to run their reports

Install Business Objects BI Platform 4.1 SP1 Client software

If you are currently using a new version of the SAP Business Objects BI Platform (BI 4.1 SP4),
please ignore this step and follow the procedure of installation starting from step 2 (Install
Business Objects BI Platform 4.1 SP5 Client Software) to update your SAP Business Objects BI
Platform release.

1- From TechFS shared folder (\\10.1.16.50\Software\Business Objects\BI 4) Copy the

file BusinessObjectsClient 4.1.rar on your local drive (ex. C:\), within that directory
unzip the file
2- Run Setup.exe, following the on-screen instructions.

Install BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.1 SP5 Client Software

The following procedure should be executed by a user with suitable administrator rights on
the End User Machine.
1- Reboot the server before commencing installation of BI Platform 4 SP4 Client
Software.
2- From TechFS shared folder (\\10.1.16.50\Software\Business Objects\ BI 4.1 SP5)
Copy the file BI_41_SP4_Client.rar on your local drive (ex. C:\), within that directory
unzip the file
3- Run Setup.exe, following the on-screen instructions.

3 Performance Team
Install BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.2 SP7 Client Software
The following procedure should be executed by a user with suitable administrator rights on
the End User Machine.
1- Reboot the server before commencing installation of BI Platform 4 SP4 Client
Software.
2- From TechFS shared folder (\\10.1.16.50\Software\Business Objects\ BI 4.2 SP7)
Copy the file BusinessObjects_4.2_SP_7_Patch_5.iso on your local drive (ex. C:\),
within that directory unzip the file
3- Run Setup.exe, following the on-screen instructions.

Post Installation Procedures

To permit 2-Tier connectivity, update C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts with the IP
address, fully qualified host name and short host name of the BIS as follows:
IP Address Short Host Name
In our case:
10.50.27.10 BKHES1BIS1

Sybase Middleware Installation
ENIQ Connectivity
Install Sybase IQ Network Client for ENIQ connectivity from (\\10.1.16.50\Software\Business
Objects \ sybase_iqntwkclnt_win_15_2.zip) – the 32 bit version of the middleware software
must be installed on the End User Machine. The following procedure should be used to
install the software.
1- Extract the zip file from the directory.
2- Run media32.exe on the End User Machine, following the on-screen instructions. The
licensed version of the software should be selected.

Once installation is completed, configure Sybase IQ Network Client as described below:

Run C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe
