 THE SAVIOUR, GOD PROMISED
When Adam and Eve, our first parents, committed sin, and
death penalty took effect, God in His love and mercy promised
them a Saviour. In the promise recorded in (Genesis 3:15), and
in what God did for Adam and Eve to cover their sins and na-
kedness in (Genesis 3:21), we clearly see God’s unmistakable
signs of the only qualified Saviour, all confirmed by God in later
years, and confirmed likewise by the Prophets. These signs God
gave, so that when the Saviour comes, He could be clearly
identified by those who sincerely seek for Him.
Promised:
(Genesis 3:15) - “And I will put enmity between thee and the
woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy
head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”
JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY QUALIFIED SAVIOUR
(For in Him were all the sign seen and fulfilled)
A. Virgin born. He had no human father
B. God-incarnate. God manifest in the flesh - (1 Tim. 3:16; John
1:1,14)
C. Crucified. Nailed to the cross - (1 Cor. 2:2)
D. Pierced by His side and “forthwith came there out blood and wa-
ter - (John 19:34)
E. Sinless. (John 8:46)
F. Male. (1 Tim. 2:5)

Confirmed: (Acts 4:12) - “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none
(Isaiah 7:14) – “Wherefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign: other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be

name Emmanuel.”

(John 14:6) - “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the
Illustrated: life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
(Genesis 3:21) – “Unto Adam and to his wife did the Lord God
make coats of skins and clothed them.”

Confirmed:
(Exodus 12:5) – “Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of
the first year.”

V. The Saviour must be sinless.
A. The Book of Exodus gives us the kind of lamb that must be
used as the Passover Lamb.
(Exodus 12:5) - “Your lamb shall be without blemish”
B. Prophet Isaiah testifies the sinlessness of the Saviour.
(Isa. 53:9) - “. . . because He had done no violence, neither was
any deceit in his mouth.”
C. Pilate testified after his investigation of Jesus Christ, “I find no
fault in this man”
(John 19:4) - “Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto
them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I
find no fault in him.”
D. Judas Iscariot, the traitor. After he betrayed Jesus confess
that Jesus is innocent.
(Matt. 27:4) - “Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the
innocent blood.”
III. Jesus Christ died, paying the death penalty due to Juan de
la Cruz; and receiving Jesus Christ as his Saviour and Lord he re-
ceives eternal life and will live forevermore.
VI. The Saviour must be male
(Exodus 12:5) says, of the Passover Lamb, “a male of the first
year.” There must not be any female Saviour. Jesus Christ’s
physical being was male. (1 Tim. 2:5) - “. . . the man Christ Jesus”

THE UNMISTAKABLE SIGNS OF THE PROMISED SAVIOUR
I. The Saviour must be Virgin Born. The phrase “her seed” in (Gen.
3:15) gives us the clue.
A. The Saviour must be the seed of the woman but not the offspring
of man.
B. Isaiah’s conformation gives us an assurance.
C. (Isa. 7:14) – “The Lord Himself shall give you a sign: . . . a virgin shall
conceive, and bear a son.”
The fulfilment of this in Jesus was recorded in (Matthew 1: 18-25).
“Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother
Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was
found with child of the Holy Ghost.Then Joseph her husband, being
a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was mind-
ed to put her away privily. But while he thought on these things, be-
hold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying,
Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife:
for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall
bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save
his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be ful-
filled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a
virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall
call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord
had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: And knew her not till
she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JE-
SUS!”

II. The Saviour must be God-incarnate.
A. This is revealed from the confirmed words of the Prophet Isai-
ah (7:14). That the name of the virgin born is “Emmanuel.”
B. In (Matthew 1: 25 and 25), this virgin born son of Mary should
be named, Jesus.
C. The name Jesus means Jehovah (GOD) the Saviour.
D. Emmanuel means “God with us.”
E. Jesus is Emmanuel; He is God manifest in the flesh or God –
incarnate.
(1Timothy 3:16) – And without controversy great is the mystery of
godliness: God was manifest in the flesh . . .”
(1 John 4:2,3) - “Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit
that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in
the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof
ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it
in the world.”
III. The Saviour must die by crucifixion.
A. (Genesis 3:15) - “and thou (serpent) shalt bruise his (her seed)
heel.” This clearly suggests crucifixion, or the nailing of the feet
of the seed of the woman to the cross, bruising His heel in the
process.
B. Through this kind of death, God said, Jesus the Saviour would
bruise or destroy the head of the serpent (Satan) rendering him
powerless. And it was fulfilled in the crucifixion of Jesus.

C. (Hebrews 2:14) - “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of
flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that
through death he might destroy him that had the power of death,
that is, the devil”
IV. In His death the Saviour must shed His blood.
A. To demonstrate the promise in (Gen. 3:15), God took a lamb; and
this sinless lamb was killed - died for Adam and Eve; the blood of the
lamb was shed.Then God took off the skin of the lamb makes it a
coat and clothed Adam and Eve. It is the picture of their forgiveness
and salvation.
B. (Gen. 3:21) - “and unto Adam and to his wife did the Lord God
make coats of skins, and clothed them.”
C. Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God. He died for sinners; He shed His
blood.
(John 1:29) - “. . . Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the
sin of the world.”
D. His garments of salvation and robe of righteousness covered and
clothed believers.
(Isa. 61:10) - “I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in
my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he
hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom
decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself
with her jewels”
