Steps for Changing the Logo for Cisco IP Phones

1. Obtaining and preparing the required files

a. Prepare the images using an imaged editor and create three images with the sizes 800X480,
139 X 109 & 1569x600x24 and save as PNG as the file type
b. Go to OS administration and upload the files using TFTP file management on both CUCM
publisher and subscriber.

2. Modify the XML file that lists the available images

List.xml files also have a specific format. Create them in a plain-text editor to prevent invalid
characters from being added to the xml file.

a. Download this example List.xml, or copy this content to a regular text file, and save it as
an .xml archive:

<Image Item Image="TFTP:Desktops/800x480x24/ramadan2.png"

URL="TFTP:Desktops/800x480x24/ramadan2_thumb.png"/>

b. Replace IMAGE-THUMB.png in the code with the name chosen for your preview size image.

Don't forget the double quotes at the end.
c. Replace IMAGE.png in this code with the name chosen for your full size image. Don't forget
the double quotes at the end.
d. Save the file so that it reads: List.xml  (case sensitive)
e. If you need to present more than 1 image options to your users, copy/paste the <Image
Item.... block and replace the names with the other image names as in step b and c
3. Uploading List.xml and background images

a. Add Directory location to upload images for 8841 phones

b. Upload two images for 8841 phones .One with pixel 800X480 and 139 X 109 with the
directory location :-Desktops/800x480x24
c. Upload one image for DX 650 phones 1569 X 600 with the directory location:-
Desktops/1569x600x24, only one image required for manager phones 1569X600X24
d. Verifying our uploads-Now that all our files should be in place, it is always best practice to
look for them in the expected directory path to make sure all files have been uploaded
correctly.
e. After uploading files restart the tftp service in cisco serviceability for both call managers.
4. Create a common phone profile and select the background image in profile
5. Choose the profile on test phones and if it successful push it to others using Bulk Admin

Tick the common phone profile and select the phone profile created, schedule it for
immediately and then apply config
