Job Description

Job title: Engineer Reports to: Engineering Manager

Division/Department: EES HW Wiring harness Work Location: Pune

PURPOSE: Entry level graduates with or without experience and understanding in the fundamentals of
Electrical/Mechanical engineering in Wiring field. Limited discretion to vary from work procedures, receives guidance
from others. Able to use Wiring Design tools for design and development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

● Responsible to understand project requirement/problem/design requirements

● Understand project specific sub system level design targets based on gathered inputs from cross functional
teams within EES.
● Creating C1 & C2 level of Harness 3D models and Drawings using Pro Cabling in Creo ,Knowledge & usage of
creo schematics
● Create routing layout by understanding assembly and safety requirements and other manufacturing processes
and materials under the guidance of senior engineer.
● Create sub system design concepts and evaluate the best one to move forward.Get guidance from
Sr.Engineer/Team lead
● Ensure the design(s) developed meet the DFX and other DVP&R Attributes under the guidance of senior
engineer
● Work with supplier for design discussions/ reviews at every significant event/ build and provide support for
Engineering build/ manufacturing build.
● Providing details to sample selection, follow-up & monitoring of sample preparation.
● Basic knowledge of selection of connectors, terminals,wires.
● Support Design calculations as applicable.
● Awareness of Change release using Windchill PDMlink.
● Ensure basic manufacturing requirements in CAD design.

Job title: Sr Engineer Reports to: Engineering Manager

PURPOSE: Proficient in Wiring Design, still acquiring higher skills. Builds on organizational/process knowledge,
understands business needs. Solves simple problems, analyzes solution alternatives. Moderate guidance and
direction needed

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

● Responsible to review and understand project requirement/ problem/design requirement

● Wire, terminal, component selection.Adhering to Tier II governance and roadmap.

● Prepare & conduct subsystem design reviews and cross functional for gaining alignment at each build.

● Providing details to sample selection, follow-up & monitoring of sample preparation.
● Develop PA test plan for sub system performance for build and testings.
● Capture and reuse knowledge at each milestone and at the end of the project.

depth knowledge/experience in relevant field.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

● Review the Wiring design plan that feeds into project overall plan by working with SI.
● Wire, terminal, component selection.Adhering to Tier II governance and roadmap.
● Review routing layout by understanding assembly and safety requirement
● Monitor target costs at subsystem level as per project scope.
● Review sub system design concepts and evaluate the best one to move forward.
● Ensure the design(s) developed meet the DFM/ DFA/ DFS and other DVP&R Attributes.
● Verify subsystem design against DVP&R requirements at each verification phase.
● Review & Release design for tooling and manage risks in the project proactively with cross functional teams
● Plan and maintain Design deliverables and System design deliverables at every engineering event.
● Conduct subsystem design reviews interfacing with leadership and cross functional for gaining alignment at
each build.
● Work with supplier for design discussions/ reviews at every significant event/ build and provide support for
Engineering build/ manufacturing build.

PURPOSE: Lead end-to-end delivery to achieve attribute targets and support/ execute technical roadmap for his/ her
sub-System/ module-set including project execution, knowledge creation/capture and technical mentorship.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

● Responsible to perform full system wiring Architecture independently and deliver solutions to stakeholders
● Prepare & keep updates wiring guidelines ,Tier-I & Tier-II complexity management.
● Identify new, unique and difficult system level wiring requirements
● Review & release Standards for Wiring Globally & adherence to the Standards
● Identify and develop new improvement areas in collaboration with global stakeholders
● Wiring Process tools preparation & updation.
● Cost Idea generation for relevant targets with wiring / platform teams
● Prepare & release base DVPs & update in a timely manner.
● Tier-I Harness & Tier-II components roadmap preparation
● Conduct subsystem design reviews interfacing with leadership and cross functional for gaining alignment at
each build.
● Drive Architecture reuse Plan and Integration.
● Responsible for driving subsystem/ module(s) through WPD process
● Leads attribute target setting for the subsystem / module for specific projects
