ETHICS VS MORALITY

In most cases, ethics and morality are being used interchangeably but these two are
different to one another. Ethics refers to the social framework provides us with. It is about what
is good or bad and what society or group say. In contrast, morality refers to the principle of an
individual. It is all about preferences which is something personal that everybody decide it for
themselves. Thus, ethics are based on values set by the society and morality is based on
individual.
Ethics and morality are similar to each other in a way that it both relates to the right and
wrong conduct. It’s just that in ethics, it is the society who decides what is right and what is
wrong while in morality, it is based on your own principle or understanding of what is right and
what is wrong but basically they are both dealing with the right and wrong conduct.
How can a person be unethical but moral?
Alliah and Bong are having relationship issues and Bong told Rovie to keep it a secret. On the
next day, Bong said to Rovie that he and alliah are thinking about committing suicide. We all
know that breaking the trust of someone is unethical. But choosing to break the trust in order
to save his friend is moral.
How can a person be ethical but immoral?
Jack has a big heart and sympathy for the needy and homeless people and he helps them by
stealing or robbing something from other people.
