Objectives:
 To become familiarize with “Packet Tracer”.

 Learn how to connect two devices with different connection types.

 To learn how to do IP settings of the devices (pc) and connect them with other device.

 How to make networks and how to send messages through one device to the other one.

 To learn how to do static and dynamic routing of different networks.

 We have to implement the ACL so that the networks which we want are isolated from
the other network which is selected.

 There are two types of ACL

1. Standard
2. extended

Lab tasks:
Task 1:
Procedure:
 Open Packet Tracer software.

 Click on the end devices option in the left bottom of the window.

 Click on “generic pc” from the newly appeared bar. This type is PC-PT.

 After clicking on that pc move the cursor to the white window and click once to place
that pc on the screen at your own desired location.

 Do same process and place two Pc’s in the white screen. Arrange them according to
your knowledge.

 Know click on the left bottom side on the “Switch” and then click on 2950T switch and
move the cursor to the white screen and click once to place it.

 After that click on the copper straight through to connect the Pc’s with the switch and
the hub.

 Click on the console wire to connect the switch with the PC to get access to its
administrative functions.

 Connect three Pc’s with the switch.

 Send some message from your own chosen devices. Click on the right side message icon
for choosing message.

 Click on the run simulation button on the right bottom side.

 Click the PC0 and click on the desktop then the terminal mode, after that click ok to start
working on the terminal CLI mode.

 To make different networks which were required?

 Connect different routers through the serial dce connection wire.

 You must have to give this wire a clock rate of 64000.

 Use the console wire to access the router cli through pc’s.

Conclusion:
So it is concluded that we have implemented all the given tasks. We have used standard and
extended ACL (access control list). We have isolated the networks which are asked for giving
and denying access.
