PROCEDURE

Activity 1- Warm-up

The Teacher greets the class and the Students greet back. The Teacher asks for absentees.
The Students on duty name the absentees if necessary.

Activity 2- Checking up the homework

The Teacher asks for homework. The students answer and say that their homework was
doing ten sentences with words of their choice from the previous lesson. The Teacher
asks the Students to read the homework and the Students read the homework. The
Teacher asks the Students to write the homework on the blackboard if there are any
problems with it. The Teacher corrects and explains when necessary.

Activity 3- Answering questions

The Teacher tells the Students to open their books at page 25. The Teacher tells the
Students that she will write some questions on the blackboard and asks them to write the
questions on their note books. Then the Teacher tells the Students to read the lesson “I
live in New York” for a few minutes.
After the Students say that they’ve finished the reading the Teacher divides them into
four groups and tells them to answer the questions in writing and then to read them out
loud. The Teacher corrects the Students when necessary and helps the Students with their
pronunciation.

Activity 4- Exercise on the worksheet

The Teacher gives each group of Students a worksheet. The Teacher announce the
Students what their next task is going to be like: on the worksheet there are two columns,

one on the right with some words from the text and another one on the left with the
explanations of the given words. The Students will have to associate the words on the
right with their explanations on the left. The Teacher encourages the Students to work
together and to help each other.
After the Students say that they have finished the Teacher asks several Students from the
groups to read what they have written.

Activity 5- Listening to a song

The Teacher tells the Students that they will listen to a song dedicated to New York City.
The Teacher also gives each group of Students a worksheet with the lyrics of the song
and tells them that there are words missing from the text.
Their task will be to listen to the song and complete the words that are missing.
They will listen to the song twice.
After listening to the song and completing the worksheet the Students are asked to write
the missing words on the blackboard.

Activity 6- The feed back of the lesson

The Teacher gives the Students a piece of paper, in the middle of which it is written in a
circle: “I live in New York”.
The Teacher does the same thing on the blackboard. The Teacher asks the Students about
the lesson- “I live in New York” and then tells them to write on the paper what comes to
their mind. The ideas are written on the blackboard and on their papers. The Teacher
encourages the Students to express their ideas.

Activity 7- Assigning homework

The Teacher communicates the Students their homework.


Then the Teacher writes it on the blackboard and tells the Students to write it on their
note books.
