Why the study of sociolinguistics is important?

Sociolinguistic is the study of the relationship and connectedness between society and
language. It is concerned and alluded with how language use interacts and affects social factors
including region, culture, gender, age, ethnicity, races, social class or stratification.
Sociolinguists are fascinated by how we talk in an unexpected way in shifting social settings, and
how we may also use particular capacities of dialect to communicate social meaning
or perspectives of our identity.
Thus, to study sociolinguistics is very essential for it illustrates how society constructed
and formulated language diversified by the social division. It will exemplify language
differences depending on what particular region or country where the languages are from. The
social roots will define and classify themselves because each one of us is sharing uniqueness of
language.
Furthermore, sociolinguistics plays a vital role in every dimensions of our lives. It helps
us to hone and sharpen our identity as we utilize the use of language and even societal exposure.
The study of sociolinguistics will teach and instill real-life attitudes and social situations.
Language is not only knowing how to properly construct sentences to deliver a message, but it is
instead a way to define and express who we really are.
