Introduction

Nowadays students rarely participate in any types of sports, they are more indulge into
indoor activities such as browsing using their phones. Being an educator of physical
education, it is improper for us to force students in doing the sport. However, we always
do motivate and entice them the benefits of participating sports activities.

Participation in regular physical activity is important for the prevention of childhood


obesity, cardiovascular disease, type II diabetes and is associated with improved
physical, mental, and emotional well being (Anderson, 2002; Lyu & Gill, 2011; Springer
& Hoelsher, 2009; Thorp, 2013). However, students also involve some challenges which
may cause some to stop and don’t participate during the sports class because of some
reasons.

Based on the researchers on campus experienced, the common problem of the student
teachers of physical education is why the students don’t want to participate in any
sports activities and we researchers want to evlutate. Researcher handles grade 5
students, which has four sections and between those sections the researchers pick
those students who are rarely scene to participate in any sports. This type of research
will allow us to know how we are able to adopt and be flexible to those students who
don’t want to participate in any sports. It is able to allow us to let students be aware of
physical fitness.
Statement of the Problem

The purpose of this study is to evaluate why some students don’t want to participate in
sports activities in university of san carlos south campus.

In particular, this study will answer the following questions.

1. What are the reasons of the students of not participating in sports class.?

2. What would be the effective in teaching strategies in teaching physical education


in grade 5 students in university of san carlos south campus to attract the
students attention towards sports?

3. Between male and female which among them has a higher rate of non
participating students in sports activities?
