Athletic Eligibility Policies:

SCCS:

Students who are placed on academic probation, that is any student who received a failing grade in his/her course of study, a
unsatisfactory (U) in conduct or who has an overall average of less than 70% at interim or quarter progress reports, may attend
practices for the activity but are not allowed to participate in games or performances. Students that are considered to be
academically ineligible, that is who have more than one failing grade and/or more than one unsatisfactory (U) in conduct will be
immediately suspended from the extra-curricular activity and cannot participate in practices, games or performances.

From the time of each interim and quarter report, the probationary or ineligibility status will be re-evaluated on a weekly basis. If
the student is passing all classes the probationary or ineligibility status will be rescinded”

RABAT American School:

ELIGIBILITY
While there are no specific eligibility requirements in order to participate, students have a responsibility to maintain satisfactory
performance in all of their classes. Satisfactory performance includes passing grades, regular attendance, adequate preparation of
assignments and reasonable effort in class. Students who are doing poorly in one or more of their courses should carefully consider
whether to participate in after school activities. Students placed on “Disciplinary Probation” may be excluded from participation.
EXCEPTIONS
A number of the school’s co-curricular activities take students away from their classroom obligations. For activities that take
students away from RAS on school days, students must have earned a minimum GPA of 1.70 with no more than one failing grade in
their classes in the previous trimester. If a student is not maintaining a satisfactory academic performance at any time, the
teacher(s) may recommend that the student not participate. The administration will forward that recommendation to the students
and parents. In these cases the parents will have the final decision.

Lincoln, Buenos Aires:

ELIGIBILITY   - Middle School
A student is eligible to participate on field trips, musical, honor band/choir, athletics and selected extra-curricular activities if the
following are true:
 A student may not receive a “D or F” in any subject or class to participate on an Athletic Department Trip, Competition,
Tournament or Fine Arts Activity/Event.  Academic standing will be a determining factor for participation for all trips and
activities.
 If a student has an incomplete, the incomplete grade must be made up before the competition or trip.
 A student will also be ineligible due to suspension.
 Report cards and progress reports will be used to determine eligibility when possible.
 Previous and current behavior will be a major consideration for determining if a student is permitted to participate on a
trip, tournament, or competition.
 Meets attendances and behavior expectations outlined by the coach of the activity or athletic department.
 Students must attend school a minimum of one-half day of school (11:30 am) to participate in after-school or evening extra-
curricular activities, competition or performance.

ELIGIBLITY – High School

All students will be eligible to try out for activities during any academic grading period, unless they are a senior and wish to play for a
junior varsity squad, or they do not meet the following eligibility requirements.

1.  Set dates/grading periods for determining eligibility are listed below.

First Season

Progress Reports-1st Qtr, First Qtr Grades, Prog. Reports – 2nd Qtr
Second Season
First Sem Grades, Prog. Reports-3rd Qtr, 3rd Qtr Grades, Prog. Reports-4th Qtr
A student will be declared eligible if he/she meets the following criteria:

a. He/she receives a grade of D- or above in all courses in which he/she is enrolled.
b. Earns a minimum grade point average of 1.7 (C-)
c. No more than 2 unexcused absences will be allowed per season.  Tardies (late to practice or games) will count as ½ an
absent.
Athletic Eligibility Policies:
d. Positive sportsmanship, conduct and attitude will be expected from Lincoln athletes at all time. (Coaches and Athletic
Department staff point of view)
e. It is understood that the selection to a sports team is at the discretion of its head coach according to selection criteria
and eligibility for a particular sport.  Participation on a sports team does not constitute automatic selection for trips,
tournaments or events.

Previous and current behavior will be a major factor in determining participation and eligibility.

Furthermore, at the discretion of the administration and the athletic director, a student who consistently arrives late or is
consistently absent from school may have his/her eligibility status reviewed.

Students who fail to meet these requirements will not be allowed to participate in Athletic or Activity Trips, competitions or
tournaments that may be scheduled during the year.

When a student is declared ineligible the following procedure is implemented:

a:    The student is placed on a two-week probation period.  Teachers, coaches, sponsors and parents are notified by the
Athletic Office or High School Office.  (Probation means that a student may participate in practices, but not in games.)
b:    The student has two weeks to improve his/her grades to meet the eligibility requirements (or specific requirements as
agreed upon by head coach, sponsor, teacher and school administration).
c.    At the end of the two weeks, the athletic director or coordinator checks with teachers and administration to obtain
current grades, and attendance records.  Students are declared eligible or ineligible.
d. The two week probation cannot extend into or past established deadlines for payment or documentation for athletic
trips.  If the athlete has not paid before the deadline he/she may not travel.
e. If a student is declared ineligible they may continue to practice but cannot participate in games or tournaments.    The
student cannot miss school to participate in any practices, games or tournaments.

American School of Paris:

We tend to think that each of the multiple intelligences is precious in its own right. If one believes that, then one cannot stifle one
intelligence in order to encourage the development of another. From this point of view, denying sports participation would be akin
to telling a kid who loves science that he can't go to science class anymore because he's failing English. In our school, if one is guilty
of misconduct in academic classes, then we deal with it there. I guess we find that kids who misbehave in academics are probably
the ones who need sports and the arts the most. Sometimes, that's the one area where they are finding success. When we find that
a good sportsman/artist is failing, we tend to go to that coach/teacher and get them to work with us. Often, these are the people
whom the child most admires.

Brent International School Manila:

Academic Warning
After each quarterly grade report, students who have earned a minimum of one “F” or two “D” grades, will be issued an Academic
Warning by the Principal’s Office. Athletic and activity privileges will likely be modified or reduced until improvements have been
made. Remedial measures such as special after-school classes, tutoring, etc., will be recommended with the assistance of the
Guidance Counselor.

Academic Probation
Students on academic warning for two consecutive quarters, or students who have earned two or more “F” grades, one “F” and two
“D” grades, or three or more “D” grades at the end of the semester will be placed on Academic Probation. A student on Academic
Probation who does not show significant improvement by the end of the semester will likely be asked to withdraw from the School.
The student's social behavior and general attitude will play a major part in a decision for withdrawal or dismissal. Athletic and
activity privileges will likely be suspended until improvements have been made.

SPORTS ELIGIBILITY:
AISE has fielded many athletic teams in the past and is again looking forward to having a very successful year. If you are interested
Athletic Eligibility Policies:
in participating on an athletic team and are passing all courses (No ‘F’s), you  are encouraged to try out for any of the sport
activities at AISE. As a condition of a student’s participation in the interscholastic program, he/she and the parents agree to abide by
the AISE Student Athlete Policies and Agreement Guidelines. Also, students who participate in a sport are eligible to earn an athletic
letter for that sport. It is very important that you familiarize yourself with the eligibility policy so that problems may be avoided later.

An eligibility list is published at the end of each nine-weeks grading period. Any student who has an ‘F’ in any course at the end of a
grading block (nine weeks) will be ineligible for participation in an interscholastic event during the next designated grading block.
Grades are figured on a cumulative basis for each semester (18 weeks).

Students must maintain an overall 1.5 GPA and have no failing grades at the end of each grading block. Students who do receive a
failing grade at the end a grading block, or whose overall GPA drops below 1.5 are ineligible to participate in any sport during the
following grading block. Classroom teachers are requested to notify the Athletic Director when a student is in danger of failing.

Students may not participate in an activity if they are absent on the day of the activity. Students may not be excused from school
early due to illness on the day of a game and expect to participate. If a student has disciplinary action pending, he/she is not eligible
to participate that day. It is important for students to realize that the athletic program complements the academic program and that
what goes on in the academic setting takes precedence over participation in the athletic program.

Colegio Americano de Torreón:

ATHLETIC ELIGIBILITY
It is considered a privilege to represent C.A.T. in school sponsored athletic activities (including ASOMEX). Students must comply with
the following standards to remain eligible:
1. No more than One (1) failing subject as of the grading period immediately preceding the scheduled practices and/or competitions.
If the preceding grading period is more than one (1) month before the athletic activity, then the current grades up to 2 weeks prior
to the scheduled activity shall be used to determine eligibility.
2. No more than one (1) suspension during the current school year.
*ASOMEX eligibility requirements demand that students must have passing grades in ALL subjects prior to the respective
competition. The Athletic Director will use the current grading period (up to 15 days prior to the scheduled event to determine
eligibility). In the event of questionable eligibility, the Principal shall have final approval of all athletic participants.

American School of Sao Paulo:

Eligibility Support Policy
If a student fails one or more classes at the end of any grading period, quarter and/or semester, the student will be placed on
extracurricular probation. All students who are on extracurricular probation will observe the following expectations if they
participate in extracurricular activities.
1. The Student Services Team (SST) and the student's extracurricular advisor(s) will meet to create an individualized schedule
of structured study times which may include after school sessions (15:15-16:00). SST will solicit feedback from teachers.
Teachers may be invited to participate in the SST meetings.
2. The student must attend all assigned structured study sessions and be engaged and committed to academic improvement
for the duration of time that the student is involved in extracurricular activities. At the discretion of SST, this time may be
extended beyond the duration of the activity.
3. Students who cut a class may be prohibited to participate in extracurricular activities.
4. Failure to meet expectations as outlined above could result in removal of the student from one or more extracurricular
activities.
5. Unless prior arrangements have been made with the High School administration, a student must be in attendance at school
for the full day in order to participate in an extracurricular event on the same day.
6. Students must participate in PE (if enrolled) on the day of an athletic practice or game in order to be eligible to participate.
7. The probationary status of a student will be reevaluated by SST at the end of every grading period.
8. The eligibility support policy applies to all extracurricular activities and any "out of class" events.

Deadlines
Student eligibility deadlines regarding the purchase of tickets and hotels and the arrangements of documents for international and
domestic travel will be set by the Athletic Director and/or the Assistant Principal.

Athletic Eligibility Policies:
We do eligibility each Thursday. Anyone with an F or a GPA under 2.0 is ineligible for all activities that week (including clubs, play
practice etc...) We have a cut off date for traveling teams. Usually, there is a 2-3 week warning (ineligibility) and if the status isn't
changed by the cut off, the athlete doesn't go. Students going on trips also must have each teacher sign a "Clearance Form"
releasing them to go (helps sort out issues ahead of time).
