Listening Section
In this section of the test, you will have the chance to show how well you understand
spoken English. There are four parts to this section, with special directions for each part.
Part 1: Pictures
Question 1 to 3
Directions
For each item, there is a picture in your test book and four statements about it on the
tape. They are spoken TWICE, and are NOT WRITTEN out on your test book, so you must
listen to them carefully. You must choose one sentence, (A), (B), (C) or (D),- that best
describes the picture. Then, on your answer sheet, mark your choice.
Example:
Look at the picture and listen to the four sentences
Statement (C), “They’re standing near the table,” is the best description of the picture,
so you should select answer (C) and mark it on your answer sheet.
Let’s begin with question number 1.

A. The man and the woman are both using paint brushes.
B. They are painting the roof of the house.
C. The man is wearing a white top.
D. The woman is using a paint roller.

Questions 4 to 7
Directions
Directions: In this part of the test, you will hear several question spoken in English,
followed by three responses, also spoken in English. The questions and responses will
be spoken TWICE. They will not be printed in your test book, so you must listen to
them carefully to understand what the speakers say. You have to choose the best
response to each question.
For example:
You will hear : Where is the meeting room?
You will also hear :
(A) To meet the new director.
(B) It’s the first room on the right.
(C) Yes, at two o’clock.
Choice (B)- “It’s the first room on the right,” – is the best answer to the question “Where
is the meeting room?”. Therefore, you should mark (B) on your answer sheet.
7. Woman : Excuse me, could you tell me the way to the nearest bank, please?
Man : ...
A. No, the bank is already closed
B. Sure, go about three blocks and turn left.
C. Yes, the bank opens at 8 oclock
In your test book, you will read a question about each conversation. The question will
be followed by four answers. You have to choose the best answer to each question, and
mark it on your answer sheet
Example:
You will hear :
Girl : Are you sixteen yet?
Boy : Not yet, but my birthday is in March.
Girl : When in March?
Boy : It is March 20'h.
Choice (c) — "The boy was born in March" — best answers the question “What do you
learn from the conversation?” Therefore, you should mark (c) on your answer sheet.
8. Man : Do you drive to work?
Woman : No, I don’t. I take the train. I hate to park in the city
Man : I always drive . So, What do you do?
Woman : I am a secretary
9. Fabien : Excuse me. Could you give me your pen for a moment please?
Brad : I’m really sorry. It doesn’t write well. But I have a pencil
Fabien : That’s alright.
10. Man ; Did you get the photocopy of the report I send you?
Woman : No, when did you send it?
Man : On Monday, You should have it today
A. Some photographs

11. Woman : Would you like to order one of our house specialities?
Man : What do you suggest?
Woman : The fish with mushroom is very good. We have fried chicken and salad.
