Enumerate and explain in a brief description the different parts of an AutoCAD User
Interface and AutoCAD Window.

1. Ribbon Panel – It gives access to the dialog box where common tools and commands are
located. It is the panel found below the application menu, quick access bar and search
bar.

2. Application Menu – It is located at the upper-left corner of the workspace. It is a menu

where you can save, open new drawing tab and folder, print, etc.

3. Quick Access Bar – It provides quick access to most of the tools which are frequently
used such as save, print, open, undo, redo. It is located at the top of the application
window beside the application menu.

4. Menu Bar – It is located at the ribbon panel. It is used to browse documents, manage
tools, commands and other important tools.

5. Search Bar – It is a tool used to search things, it is accessible with the aid of an internet
connection.

6. User Coordinate System – It shows the direction of the x, y, and z-axis for drawing and
modelling.

7. Status Bar – It is located at the left bottom part of the window. It displays drawing tools
such as ISODRAFT, ORTHOMODE, AUTOSNAP, etc. which are commonly used tools.

8. View Cube – It is a navigation tool where you can switch isometric view and standard
view of your drawings.

9. Dynamic Input Cursor – It is simply the mouse cursor. It is used to draw on the drawing
window or drawing sheet.

10. Navigation Bar – It provides access to the navigation tools and is located below the view
cube.

11. Command Bar – It is where to write the commands. It also shows what command is
currently in use.

12. Drawing Window – It is the area where one creates drawings - 2D or 3D, plans, models
and other objects.

13. Model Layout Tab – It is a working tab used for creating new layout or drawing sheet.

14. View Control – It is a setting where changes in views, visual settings and styles are made.
It is located at the left corner of the viewport.
 15. Visual Style Control – It is a customized setting which controls the view of the drawings
created in the view control.

16. File Tab – it consists the drawing files currently opened on the screen.
