PRINCIPLES OF TRAINING

1. Duration

 To improve Lucy’s cardiovascular system, she


jogged every day for 25 minutes straight.

2. Warm-up and cool down

 To reduce the risk of injury, Justin, a


soccer player, begins with a warm-
up exercise and end with a cool
down exercise to prevent
unnecessary soreness.
3. Frequency
 For a month, Liza creates a workout routine
that includes aerobic, muscular, respiratory,
and abdominal exercises. She will perform all
each form of exercise once a week alternate.

4. Intensity
 Jessica struggles from a weakened
respiratory system and wishes to
improve it over time. So she began her
training by doing light exercise to
moderate exercise, and then from
moderate exercise to vigorous exercise.

5. Overload

 The aim of Hidilyn Diaz is to build upper


body strength; therefore she keeps
increasing the training weight loads in
upper body until she reaches her goal
to lift more than 105kg (231 pounds) to
win in the Olympics, weightlifting
women category.
