    [INTRO]

    Lorraine: Greetings, ladies and gentlemen! Today, I will be presenting you two examples of genres of the material
    viewed. News Flash and Weather Report. But first, what is viewing material and its genres?

    Kristine: A viewing material is any kind or means of transmitting information, ideas, or any kind of video by means of
    electronic technology or internet platform. These are things designed to be viewed or watched.

    Catherine: Different types of genres are, News flash, Trailer, Weather report, Documentary and Internet based. But
    today we will be focusing on News Flash and Weather reports.

    [NEWS FLASH]

    Von: First off, news flash. A news flash is a single item of important news that is aired separately and often interrupts
    other programs.

    Kristine: An example of a news flash is ‘GMA Flash Report’ from GMA Network

    Catherine: It has no definite time slot since it is aired separately. And it’s topic is mostly about important and urgent
    issues that the community must know immediately.

    Von: The target audience of news flash is the community. And its purpose is to inform or update the majority of
    important news quickly.

    [WEATHER REPORT]

    Lorraine: Another example of a viewing material is the weather report.

    Kristine: A weather report is a systematic statement of the existing and usually the predicted meteorological conditions
    over a particular area.

    Catherine: An example of a weather report is ‘weather weather lang’ from ABS-CBN Network.

    Von: It is usually aired at 6:30 pm on weekdays and 6:00 pm on weekends. And it tells us about the weather condition
    and when or where it could possibly occur.

    Kristine: The target audience of weather reports are regular viewers to inform and warn them beforehand about the
    weather conditions. It could help a lot of people to reschedule their tasks and let people be ready.
