Contraindications/Precautions
People with histyory of suicide
History of seizures
Conditions which may increase body temperature. Nursing Interventions
People with severe renal impairment and diabetes mellitus Assess patients mental status
Monitor changes in behavior
Assess weight and BMI
Monitor orthostatic hypotension
Monitor for tardive dyskinesia
Interactions
Increase the risk of orthostatic hypotension with use of
hypertensives
Increase CNS depression with use of alcohol Interact
with natural product (St. John's wort may decrease
levels/effects).
Client Education
Notify HCP of any thought of
suicide, new or worsen
Evaluation of Medication Effectiveness depression
Decrease positive schizophrenia( hallucination, delusions). Instruct patient to take
