ABSTRACT
Research on effects of motivation on employee performance in hospitality industry in a case of
comfy hotel whre the research was done. The main objectivs of this study was t identify ways of
motivating workers in the hotel industry of which in this case it was at comfy hotel, to determine
the challenges facing the employees of comfy hotel which was lack of motivation from the
management. And to determine the extent motivation affect productivity. The researcher
collected samples from 50 employees of comfy hotel using questionnares because it had closed
ended type of question already administered and because it has freedom of expression.
Purposively sample was used because it ia adobted because the intation was to gain insight ito
the motivation phenomina as used to select the management members and other workers. Data
was presented in different ways including using row data into manageble sizes. according to the
study promotion increases employee’s morale as their hard work is rewarded and that promotion
offers advancement in terms of designation, salary and benefits and change in type of job
activities in the organization.
This study has highlighted that organization encourages teamwork and employee participation as
a way of motivating the employees and their management ensures employees are motivated by
allowing employers to participate in decision-making. Employee participation gives them an
opportunity to influence management decision and contribute to their improvement of the
organizational performance and thus they appreciated. This study sought to establish the
employee perceptions of the effectiveness of Intrinsic factors on motivation of employees in
Comfy Hotel. To this objective, the study concludes that Intrinsic factors that include career
development, recognition, training and development and job design were effective in motivation
of employees in employer. In line with the first research which this project should answer it, was
observed that most of the employees feel much motivated extrinsically as compared to the
Intrinsic Motivation. Management should consider the use of extrinsic motivation such as
incentives and other case benefit of motivating staff more often than then Intrinsic source of
motivation. This is because it has the ability to stimulate a person towards our stated goal or
objective according to the questionnaire answered by the staff. An increases in the incentives
will lead to higher performance
