“THE HONEST CONTEST”

FADE IN:
ILLUSTRATION OF TITLE SCREEN
We open to an establishing shot of a rubber running
racetrack. Situated on this track are four character
stretching and each dawning colourful sportswear. The sun
is shining and the birds a chirping. The atmosphere
resembles that of a school sports day.
NARRATOR
“welcome to the ‘honest contest’,
(forcing the words to rhyme) where being
a stickler for rules will make you all
winners. (once more, forcing the words
to rhyme”
UNSEEN MEMBER OF THE AUDIENCE
Shouts from the distance “stop rhyming!”
NARRATOR
“shut up, this contest will consist of
four events, there’ll be (begins to
mutter under breath) tents, fence,
former US vice president Mike Pence…”
frustratingly he exclaims “somebody help
me out!”
UNSEEN MEMBER OF THE AUDIENCE
“dire consequence!”
NARRATOR
“well, that’s if you’re a cheater. now
screw this dog and pony show. Begin the
contest!”

 EVENT 1: NARRATOR
“spoon and egg race”

A screen briefly appears with heading ‘spoon and egg

race’. The scene consists of the character Frank Frank
using glue to stick the small spoon on top of the large
egg, so it doesn’t fall off whilst he runs. Ultimately
his plan works, and he crosses the finish line winning
the first event. Whilst celebrating the screen skips and
there is a small break in the sound.

EVENT 2: NARRATOR
“finger race”
Another screen with ‘finger race’ comes and goes. All
contestants stand at the start of the race and when the
gun sounds to start all contestants apart from Frank
Frank begin to scream as their index fingers begin to
extend towards the finish line. Frank Frank in the same
fashion as before applies ‘finger growing cream’ and it
causes his finger to extend at a much faster speed than
the others. Frank Frank screams as his finger passes the
finish line. At that moment the backgrounds jump in and
out of the set but destroyed.

EVENT 3: NARRATOR
“tug of war”
‘Tug of war’ the players (Frank Frank and blue character
vs green charcter and pink character) pick up a rope and
begin to pull. Glitches become much more noticeable
around them. They each get a close up shot to indicate
what is going on in their heads.

 GREEN CHARCTER
“you can do this!” “they all said you
couldn’t, but you can” (screams with
passion) “Just believe!”
PINK CHARACTER
Big fish glitches behind pink character,
its eyes being uncomfortably close and
staring straight at them “if touches me
I’ll kick it’s face off!)
BLUE CHARACTER
“White noise” “scary gibberish”
FRANK FRANK
“Fuck this noise”
(frank then pulls out ‘tug of war cream’ and sprays it in
the opponent’s eyes)
GREEN CHARACTER
“screeches” (falls to the ground in
agony allowing Frank Frank and Blue to
win)

EVENT 4: NARRATOR
“100m sprint”
“100m sprint” the screen pops in and out in all skewed
with letters flashing. Glitches are filling the screen
with unconfutable sound to match. The runners try to run
forward but are met with disappearing and appearing
bodies, legs mand arms moving all over the place,
twisting and turning appendages and random objects doing
things to obstruct them.
NARRATOR
“what on earth is going on? Right
where’s the cheater?”

 CHEATER
Camera tilts left to expose a large
orange cheater (in a Geordie accent)
“0h, am just passing through like”

The cheater scurries off camera and the race returns to

normal, glitch free, with frank Frank winning immediately
FADE OUT:

NARRATOR
“oh for fucks sake!”
End credits

THE END
