First Virtual Homeroom Parents-Teacher Conference

8-Stargazer

The 1st virtual homeroom parents-teacher conference of 8 stargazer was a success. It was
conducted on September 15, 2020; Wednesday at exactly 11:00 in the morning through Zoom
platform. Here is how the virtual meeting went on.
It started with a prayer presented in the PowerPoint, followed by the agenda to be
discussed. The grade 8-stargazer masterlist was shown to the parents for them to make sure if
their children are in the list. Subject area teachers were presented with their photos and the
school materials they needed in their subject. For parents information the two platforms were
explained to them. The Blended- Learning which is a combination of Online-Distance Learning
(ODL) and the Modular Distance Learning (ODL) and with the use of TV-radio Based
Instruction.
The next important thing presented was the Distribution of Module. It was explained to
the parents that the date is tentative which is on August 18, 2020; 1:00-2:00 pm. It may be
changed to a new schedule based on the availability of modules. Another agenda was the
presentation of the class schedule and the platforms to be used as means of communication. The
group chat for Grade 8- Stargazer and parents or guardians were also created. The house rules for
google classroom was discussed and the last agenda was the election of Homeroom PTA
officers. Parents appointed their co-parents and some volunteered themselves.

This conference would not be possible without the parents’ cooperation and participation.
I can surely say that our dear parents really wanted their children to continue their studies despite
this pandemic and trying their best to embrace the new normal of education.
As what the saying goes ‘All is well that ends well’.
