REACTION PAPER #1

Both of the lessons from week 1 and week 2 focused on topics that has been seen and
applied in the current world today. From week 1, I learned about how the different point of views
of different people in the past eras and also what are the different features of living a modern life.
I believe that all of us have gone through a lot in life, and understanding what comprises makes
us more curious on what it can bring to us more to us, as people. From week 2, we studied about
globalization. With this lesson, I learned about the world never stops evolving. We all have
different characteristics that make us each unique in their own way, but we also have common
characteristics that cannot be denied is applicable to every single person. I also learned in this
lesson that we all can gain something new and learn more about each other’s culture, traditions
etc.; and try to apply it to our own life. This will help us be better persons, while also knowing
more about the world that surrounds us. Finally, the documentary about the French revolution.
After watching this documentary, it opened my eyes of how powerful the power of unity and
believing in something you are passionate about is. From this documentary, I watched how the
power of the people has dethroned their king, that has deprived them of the right treatment that
they truly deserved. But in it, I also learned how something can easily be abused and looked
upon. But overall, I enjoyed and learned a lot from all the topics and especially, the
documentary.

From all the lessons I learned, I believe that I can apply them to my own life in two ways.
Firstly, by being much knowledgeable with life. I have learned that there is a lot of things that I
don't know about certain things in this world, and I have learned that knowing those will
eventually unlock my potential and help myself also. Secondly, by being much more transparent
to people I meet in this world. I realized that we all have different stories to share, and
experiences to witness, but at the end of the day, we should all respect each other. I learned that
we can gain lessons from another, that will all help us in the long run.
