DIRECTION: Answer the following questions based on your own ideas. No

1. A patient is admitted at Philippine Heart Center because of some heart


conditions, he was requested to have a chest x-ray examination, and it shows
that his heart has enlarged a bit. Prior to admission, the patient is suffering from
difficulty of breathing, and he also noticed that his nail beds and lips becomes
darker. As a future health care worker, kindly discuss the possible reason why
the patient is suffering difficulty of breathing and why did the nail beds and lips
became darker?
2. Based on the situation given, identify the common terms used to describe the
condition of the patient and give their medical terminologies. Identify the prefix,
root word, suffix used and their meaning.
3. How does the cardiovascular system works with the respiratory system to give
the body sufficient oxygenated blood and remove unnecessary CO2 in the blood?
4. Patient Lee Min Ho is suffering from severe flank pain. The attending physician
requested a series of laboratory test to check his condition, he also requested
radiologic examinations to check the organs located in the flank area. As a
knowledgeable RT, what do you think is the probable cause of pain of the
patient, and why?
5. In relation to the item above, the Radiologic Technologist on duty performed
examinations of the ureter, urinary bladder together with the urethra, and the
kidneys. Kindly give the medical terminologies for each examination providing
the prefix, root word, and suffix used, then give their meaning.
