Brenda ran downstairs with one shoe on. “Mum have you seen my
favourite blue sparkly shoes? I can’t find them and they are the only shoes
that match my outfit.” “Brenda, they have to be in your room somewhere.
Things don’t just get up and walk away,” she said. Brenda ran back to
her room searching frantically for her blue shoe because the school bus would
be leaving in five minutes. No luck, Brenda threw on her pink sneakers and ran
downstairs with her book bag on her back. She kissed her mum and patted her
dog Collie on the head and flew out the door. In the basement was a blue
shoe with bite marks leaning against the step.
