Science has a wide variety of branches that focuses on different things and the branches
that I will mention are only the few of them. Based on the diagram, Science is mainly
composed of three (3) main branches which are Life Science, Physical Science and Earth
Science. Life Science that mainly focuses on the study of living things and living processes.
Under Life Science is Biology and Medicine. Biology is the study of life and living things. The
sub branches of Biology are Zoology, Botany, and Microbiology. Zoology deals with the study
of animals, Botany is the study of plants while Microbiology is about the study of
microorganisms. Medicine is the science and field of health that specializes in preserving of
health and with preventing and treating disease or injury. Next is Physical Science which
deals with the study of matter and energy. Physical Science is composed of Chemistry,
Physics, and Astronomy. Chemistry is the science of that studies the behavior and properties
of matter. Physics is the branch of science concerned with the nature and properties of
matter and energy. Astronomy is both under Physical Science and Earth Science and it
mainly focuses on the study of celestial objects (such as stars, planet, moon and sun), space
and universe. Next is Earth Science and it concentrates on how our planet works and why.
Under Earth Science is Astronomy, Geology and Meteorology. Geology is the study of rocks
and the substances that makes up the surface of the Earth. Meteorology focuses on studying
the processes that cause different weather conditions. Biophysics is a branch of Science
that is concerned with the application of physical principles and methods to biological
problem. And lastly, Chemical physics focuses on the chemical processes and phenomena
from the point of view of physics,
