Heading Content & Methodology Board

Summary
General Developing students’ knowledge and understanding of about
Objectives the biogeochemical cycles.
Specific Students will be able to
Objectives:  Define and describe the carbon cycle.
Cognitive  Identify the carbon cycle.
Affective Students will be able to distinguish between carbon cycle and
nitrogen cycle.
Psychomotor Students will be able to sketch the diagram of carbon cycle.
Teaching White board, marker, chart, textbook, model of carbon cycle,
Resources projector if available.
Teaching Lecture cum demonstration method and discussion method.
Methodology
Teaching Brain storming technique, individual work or group work.
Strategies
Previous Teacher will asks some questions to check the previous 3 minutes
Knowledge knowledge of students.

What is cycle?

What is Carbon?

Announcement Teacher relates the previous knowledge of students with topic 2 minutes
of the topic and announces the topic name and writes it on the board. Carbon
cycle
Presentation Teacher will start the lesson by using the previous knowledge 25
of the students. minutes
Definition The carbon cycle is the process in which carbon travels from
the atmosphere into organisms and the earth and then back
into the atmosphere. Plants take carbon dioxide from the air
and use it to make food.
Explain Animals then eat the food and carbon is stored in their bodies
or released as CO2 through respiration. During cellular
2

respiration, both producers’ consumers break down their

organic compounds and release carbon dioxide. Carbon
dioxide is also released to the atmosphere when decomposers
break down the organic compounds of dead bodies.
Drawing Then teacher will draw the diagram of carbon cycle on the
Activity board and said students to draw the cycle on their notes book.

The teacher will asks some questions to students.

What are biogeochemical cycles?

What is carbon cycle?

What is the use of CO2?

The teacher can also use chart of carbon cycle for better
understanding of students.
3

The teacher will say the students to draw the diagram of

carbon cycle. Teacher will give them the time to complete the
diagram in limited time.

Then teacher will again ask some question related to their

diagrams.

How carbon dioxide is released?

What are fossil fuels?

The teacher can also use model of carbon cycle for enhancing
student knowledge and understanding about the topic.
4

Teacher can also use projector for enhancing students

understanding about topic if projector is available in school.

Recapitulation Teacher will ask some questions to students to assess their 5 minutes
understanding about topic.

1. What are biogeochemical cycles?

2. What is carbon cycle?

3. What is the use of carbon dioxide?

4. How CO2 is released?

Home Task Then give them the home task and write it on the board. 5 minutes

draw the
carbon
cycle
Departure At the end teacher will leave the class by saying “Allah
Hafiz” to students.
