INFO8500 – Test 1.

Overview
Test 1 requires you to perform several practical tasks that will help assess if you meet the necessary learning
outcomes for Network Address Translation. You will not use any reference material. Test 1 is a closed book Test,
during the Test you will have only the following programs open: Packet Tracer, Zoom and this document open in
Adobe Reader unless otherwise directed by the professor (You can use an online Subnet Calculator). If you are
found with any unauthorized applications open, it will be treated as an academic offence and you will be assessed
a grade of 0 on the Test. Once you have completed the Test you will then need to open your course shell, upload
the required file and leave the zoom meeting until the allotted time for the Test has expired. Per below you will be
required to record your screen while you are taking the Test. Failure to meet any of the recording and upload
requirements may result in a reduced grade on your assessment.

To further assist you in understanding academic integrity requirements please see the following link.

When you are finished writing your Test you will upload a single file to the assessment portal for the Test. You will
upload a completed packet tracer file. You will also need to use the following naming convention: Initials-
last4digitsofID-INFO8500-21S-Test-1.pkt (i.e as1234-info8500-21S-Test-1.pkt).

If you have any questions during the Test please email me, use teams chat function or send me an invite to
your zoom session

Also note that ALL submissions MUST be submitted by 12:00 PM. Submissions after that time will NOT be accepted
or marked!

Read through the entire document first so that you completely understand what is expected of you.

Please note that this test is an individual activity you are not be share your answers or ask questions from other
students.

Recording your Session:

We will all meet to start the Test and once the Test has begun will exit our zoom meeting and open a
meeting in Zoom with only you as a participant.

Once your meeting is open, you will do the following:

provided.
2. You will start a Zoom meeting and make sure that you activate your camera and Microphone.
3. Your Audio/microphone must be on and recorded during the Test
4. You will then select to record the session to the cloud and use your laptop to record a 360 degree view of
the room as well as show the desk that you are using.
5. You will share your screen (Not application, but screen) for the duration of the Test.
6. Once you have completed the Test you will upload the required files to the Assessment portal for the Test
(within the allotted time).
7. It will then take some time for the Video to be rendered, once it is you will be notified and by email and you
are to select the shared link in the email and add it to a separate assessment portal (Links for the Test 1
Video) that will be used to provide me with the link to your zoom cloud recording.

completing each of the tasks.

You will need:

1. 1 x Cisco 1941 Router (Site B)

You will use Static routing (Do not use Dynamic Routing).

Task #1: Configure Outbound Overloading NAT

On the router for Site A 1941 (Site A will be directly connected to Site B)

1. You will configure outbound overloaded NAT on IOS in this part. The goal in our topology is to allow the
Server on the Site A (Internal) network to connect to the web servers in on Site B and C. The IP address on the
external interface on the router will be shared by the Server on Site A when accessing the web servers on Site
B and C. The web servers will see all client traffic from that IP address and will not be able to see the inside
local address.

2. Test your configuration using Site B and C.

Task #2: Static Network Address Translation

On Site B 1941 Router (Site B will be directly connected to Site A and Site C).

1. You will translate (port forward) all incoming http requests on the external interface (Outside Local Address)
to the Web Server (Inside Local Address).
2. Test your configuration using Site A and C

Task #3: Configure Dynamic Network Address Translation

On the 1841 Router for Site C (Site C will be direction connected to Site A)
1. Configure Dynamic NAT using a pool of 5 IP addresses
2. You will translate all outbound connections
3. Test your configuration by connecting to networks A and B

Wrap Up and Submit

1. You will upload your saved packet tracer file to the Test 1 portal on eConestoga. Please ensure that you use
the following naming format for the file: AS1234-info8500-21-Test-1.pkt
*In total you will upload 1 file

2. Once your Zoom cloud video has been rendered you will provide a link in the Assessment Portal Named
Links for Test 1 Video.
