The Treaty of Thronehold

The Last War

A succession war waged after the death of King Jarot in 894 YK (Year of the Kingdom).
The year is now 994, just little over a century after the start of hostilities and a week after the
Mourning that decimated the nation of Cyre. Now the rulers of the remaining nations meet in
Wroat, the capital of Breland, to discuss peace, fearful of the Mourning reoccurring in their own
nations. The Dragonmarked Houses have been the only ones that have profited from the war,
aiding both sides.

Aundair – large agricultural industry and universities. Emphasis on fashion, strong-headed
people. Used its Phantom Cavalry in the war and while small, is home to many mages.

inflicted with famine during the war.
Thrane – a theocratic nation under the Church of the Silver Flame. Wants to destroy all undead

refuses to end the war.

Bulwark – Boranel’s personal bodyguard. Steadfast, subservient.
King Kaius ir’Wynarn of Karrnath – wants peace due to how much of the nation has been
decimated by war.
High Cardinal Krozen – once a righteous paladin that has been corrupted by his position.
Believes Karrnath’s methods in warfare were inexcusable.

7-year-old girl with dark skin and grey eyes. Has been targeted by assassins. Wants peace.

Basic Outline
Houses Cannith and Lyrandar try to keep the war going by influencing the two war-hungry
leaders., so as to spur further innovation and expand their power. Boranel employs the King’s
Shadows to have House Thurrani kill the two patriarchs and matriarchs (they believe this to be
their chance to finally start surpassing House Phiarlan). With the two staunch supporters of
continuing the war dead through accident and tragedy, Boranel hopes it will be enough to sway
the other rulers to end the war. The players will be the rogue agents that shape if this will come
to be and how to respond, whether it be through diplomacy, force, or both.
