Engagement to the post of State Quality Monitors (Roads)

Eligibility and Terms and Conditions

(i) The retired officials not below the rank of Divisional Engineers/ Executive
Engineers (or equivalent) in Highways, CPWD, Border Roads Organisation
or any other departments/undertaking of Government of Tamil Nadu/India
or private Engineers of any firm having more than 25 years of experience
in road laying works, having a B.Tech/BE. (Civil Engineering/Mechanical
Engineering) qualification
(ii) Persons who are already serving as National Quality Monitors(NQMs)
/State Quality Monitors(SQMs) in other departments or as Consultants for
any Quality Monitoring Company/Consulting firms will not be eligible for
being selected as State Quality Monitors in Rural Development and
Panchayat Raj Department
(iii) The applicant should not have crossed 65 years of age at the time of
application
(iv) Last date of receipt of application is 30.07.2021
(v) The decision of the Selection Committee is the final with regard to
appointment to the post
(vi) The selected applicant as State Quality Monitors will inspect road and
bridge works being executed by Rural Development and Panchayat Raj in
various Districts. The monthly allocation of the districts for inspection shall
be decided by the Director of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj.
(vii) An Honorarium of Rs.3000/- on daily basis and conveyance charges will be
paid from their residence to District Head Quarters and back to the
residence. The actual fare, as applicable to the cadre in which they retired
from service will be provided subject to a maximum of II tier AC train fare.
(viii) The Honorarium and conveyance charges will be paid on monthly basis.
(ix) The conveyance to site will be arranged by the Project Director,DRDA of
the District.
(x) The appointed SQMs shall comply with the guidelines/instructions of the
Directorate of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj
(xi) The Director of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj reserve the right to
summarily relieve the SQM(s) in case of any reported lack of integrity and
/ or any other action deemed to be unbecoming of an SQM.
(xii) The service of SQMs who have attained the age of 70 during the service,
will be discontinued.
