After filling out the table, answer the following guide questions:
1) What axiom in Oliva's 10 Axioms of Curriculum design is reflected in the lesson plan? Explain briefly.
a) Change is both inevitable and necessary, for it is through change that life forms grow and develop.
i) Before, the knowledge is only given to the students by having the mindset that it is important to know this because it is
part of the curriculum. But basing on the sample lesson plan, applications of the lesson plan is now shown which shows
the students the importance of this lesson.
b) Curriculum changes made at an earlier period of time can exist concurrently with newer curriculum changes at a later period
of time.
i) This curriculum is the culmination of the old and the new curriculum. The old knowledge is still there and innovations
are added for a better quality of learning.
c) Curriculum change results from changes in people.
i) Since people are now showing interests in different fields, like architecture and engineering, the way of delivering the
knowledge also has changed. They have reflected the importance of the lesson on future references.
d) Curriculum change is affected as a result of cooperative endeavor on the part of groups.
i) The new curriculum used here is the culmination of the knowledge and efforts of different professionals from the sector
of education. The use of curriculum guide by DepEd as the bible of teachers in creating their lesson plan is proof of it.
2) If you were to improve the lesson plan, what will you add, subtract or modify? Write your re-design suggestions.
a) The lesson plan is well organized and precise. The lesson is clearly written and can be easily interpreted and carry out to
student. No opportunities found to add, subtract and/or modify the lesson plan.
