Evaluation 5: Insights about Topic 4: American English versus British English

Though both English, American and British English are very different from each
other, their differences are not just simply by the use of words. Even on the technical parts
of speech, their differences are visible and seen. They differ from each other from
grammar to rules used in speech. In addition to this, simple things such as spelling are
different like using -ise instead of the American -ize. The root of their differences comes
from British wanting to be unique and able to distinguish themselves. The softness and
fluidity of their pronunciation can also be linked to them maintaining the influence of
French in their language. Learning about their significant differences made me clarify
those words that I use in my everyday life.
